Dorney Wetlands
After all the moaning about a slow passage I checked the whinchat records and found that the earliest I had one here was April 29th ... so this evening's was the earliest yet! Unusually there was just the single on the old sewage farm settling beds (now grass and odd bits of scrub) - seen from the "view point" on the north bank of Dorney Wetlands
No wader passage today with only swallows and common terns moving up the channel
No word either from the gropper this evening in bright, windy conditions - I was there until about 7pm
