April 11th Dorney Wetlands 08:29 Bright sunshine on my first day back after holidays - typical! The early starts will be harder to cope with unless a juicy wader appears soon ... nothing new this morning and a lapwing saw off a pair of RPs which had looked settled (they should have stayed on east marsh - strayed onto west marsh and got the heavy treatment) - why don't lapwings get over themselves and realise it's not all about them?
