April 25th Dorney Wetlands A perfect day with heavy rain from the start. Sadly no one was at the site first thing ... I got there to see a flock of common terns going through at about 8:00 & leaving these two to investigate "tern island" - used, successfully, in 2003. They were still there at 19:00. A dozen or so swift at midday and a trident of dunlin at about 17:30 was all to show for a potentially great day. The light was poor by the time I took this picture. It can be tricky to get the (c tern) eye under good conditions with a digiscoping set up but in dull light ... note the chromatic aberration along the black/white margin CAMERA : E995V1.6 |
