May 17th Dorney Wetlands With no wader passage across the county it wasn't a surprise that no more than the resident plovers and the half-dozen redshank showed today. The islands are looking very green, with willow herb now rampant even over the islands they covered with "shingle" in April. The good weather may help to keep the migrant waders from dropping into the site but it brings out unwelcomed human visitors with manic cyclists tearing over the long, lark-filled grass of the north bank. After pointing out that bikes weren't allowed north of the river, I got ignored and sworn at for my trouble ... CAMERA : E995V1.6 |
