Nightingales made a very early appearance this year with reports of
birds at two sites on the 2nd & 3rd of April ... on the
quite remarkable:
The Blackcap is just one of the
dozen singing males at
Searles
farm lane GP.
The
RC pochard was also at the site (probably the best site in the county to
see this striking import)
Next appear some common birds taken at
Swinley
forest over the Easter weekend.
Missing are
crossbill & redstart
which were present in good numbers but were
too distant for anything but record shots
The final piece of
Spring's jigsaw puzzle is complete with the sound of churring nightjars on a dusk
